Courses and electives in cardiology

The training of future doctors is an important and significant concern of our Cardiology Clinic on the Virchow-Klinikum campus. Almost all clinical areas of cardiology are intensively involved in the student training and allow the learners a deep insight into the practice.

Courses are structured as follows:

  • Mandatory courses (lecture, rotation internship in internal medicine / cardiology, ward internship and PJ lessons)
  • Elective courses (ECG course, instructions for scientific work, differential diagnosis)
  • the International Study Group
  • Events of the Reformstudiengang

If possible, the courses also allow interaction with patients care including live demonstrations in the cardiac catheter or echocardiography laboratory. Cardiological doctors are again increasingly involved in basic training and a clinical examination is held in the last semester.

Please note that senior electives (PJ) are only available to registered students at the Charité Universitätsmedizin, and positions are assigned via the Dean’s office.
